Your local Mexican restaurant, Casa Alvarez was born in 1994 and showcases the unique cuisine of Mexico’s Jalisco region where chef-owner Ernesto Alvarez was raised. Jalisco is the home of Tequila and Mariachi Music which is why you’ll find some of the best margaritas and a festive atmosphere here at the Casa.
When Ernesto brought his family’s recipes to Boulder, Colorado 16 years ago, his interpretation of the red and green chili sauces he grew up with were instantly acclaimed by food critics and won several local awards. Casa Alvarez in Boulder has been recognized consistently as one of the best local Mexican restaurants by 5280 Magazine, The Rocky Mountain News, The Colorado Daily, and The Daily Camera.
The folks at Casa Alvarez have also been recognized for the many ways they have served the local Boulder community. From serving on the Boulder Chamber of Commerce Board, sponsoring softball teams and delivering tacos every month for free to Attention Homes’ at risk youth, co-owners Betty and Ernesto understand the importance of giving back locally. They have received awards from the Boulder History Museum, PACE, Intercambio de Commuidades, Diabetes Awareness, Attention Homes, Community Action Program, H-Heros, and Sacred Heart of Jesus.
